Cir4Fun is a Horizon Europe research project advancing circular economy innovation in the European furniture sector. It aims to transform traditional linear production models into sustainable, circular ecosystems by leveraging digital technologies like AI, Digital Product Passports (DPPs), and Data Spaces. The project focuses on enhancing eco-design, reuse, recycling, and sustainable business models—such as Furniture-as-a-Service (FaaS)—to minimize environmental impact and maximize product lifecycle value. Cir4Fun brings together industry, academia, municipalities, and consumers to co-create a more resource-efficient future for furniture manufacturing and consumption.
Xgility (XGL) plays a leading role in the Cir4Fun project by designing and implementing an advanced Generative AI-based Decision Support System (DSS) tailored to the needs of sustainable furniture eco-design. Our work primarily focuses on leading the development of a custom Large Language Model (LLM) trained on both public and project-specific datasets.
